In case you couldn’t tell, that above statement is dripping with sarcasm. But I felt a bit of hyperbole was in order to lure you into this blog so I can emphasize my point here, otherwise it’d get buried in the information overload you’re subjected to online. Which is kind of my point. Everybody wants results yesterday nowadays, and the fast-paced society in which we live may partly be to blame, but the focus needs to change from an obsession with getting to a focus on being.

Don’t be so obsessed with achieving the end result that you forget to enjoy the journey! I talk primarily about fitness pursuits in this space, but that goes for anything you do in life.

As Ralph Marston says, “anything you get for free, with no work or commitment or attention, is worth about what you pay for it, which is nothing.”

“The Secret”, as it were then, is not some supplement that guarantees 450% increase in strength with only 20 minutes a day of exercise, but rather a commitment to hard work that ensures success is the only option.

When all you expect to get is something for nothing, the most you can get is nothing. If you want to change your body, expect to put in YEARS of hard work in the gym, at the stove and in bed (not sexing, but sleeping to recover). It takes effort.

But instead of lamenting all the effort you need to make a change, embrace it, and you can’t help but succeed.
