The hamstrings are the most undervalued and underdeveloped muscles in the body for most men.
Whatever your goals are, your hamstrings are a major factor in your ability to perform explosively and avoid injury.
But finding exercises to train them are easier said than done. Also, too often I see clients utilize too much lower back when attempting to train their hamstrings.
You have to “feel” the hamstrings working throughout the movement, and that takes time to develop that mind-muscle connection, but some exercises are better suited to doing so than others.
Here’s my go-to exercise for hamstring development (work up to these starting with standard hyperextensions)…
